My Dad's Obituary and Funeral Dinner

Clyde Boyack Nixon, age 69, passed away quietly on May 2, 2010, surrounded by family, in Cedar City, Utah. “Bo” was born February 5, 1941 in Idaho Falls, ID., the second child of Clyde and Blanche Boyack Nixon. He served a mission in the Hawaiian Islands for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. On August 19, 1965, he married Keiko Kay Fujimoto in Idaho Falls, ID. They had three daughters, and were married for 41 years. He attended both Ricks College and Brigham Young University in Provo before moving to California. Bo finally retired to Cedar City, UT in 2001. Bo loved vacationing in Hawaii and Mexico; he loved painting, spending time in art galleries, playing the bongo drums and singing. He loved spending time with his daughters and his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.


Bo was preceded in death by his parents and a niece. He is survived by his children, Tamiko (Bryan) Westover, Gilbert, AZ., Sumiko (Paul) Scott, Cedar City, UT and Julie (Brian) Workman, Cedar City, UT. He is also survived by his brother, Ralph (Sharon) Nixon, Idaho Falls, ID and sister, Sarabeth (Morgan)  Haroldsen, Mackay, ID. Bo has 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.


A viewing will be held Saturday, May 8, 2010, from 9:45-10:45 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Chapel located at 370 N 4050 W, in Cedar City, Utah. Interment will be at the Cedar City Cemetary.

After my dad's funeral, we had a nice luncheon that Sumiko's ward put on for us. We had ham, funeral potatoes, jello and lots of desserts.  You wouldn't believe the dessert table, everyone wanted to pick their favorite piece or cake or cupcake before they were gone.  Yes, my cousins (25+) were the ones that were doing it the most!!  ; )
