Keegan FINALLY lost his two front teeth last Sunday and Monday. These teeth were grossing me out because they were so loose and he kept playing with them with his tongue. I swear they could have been pulled out a week earlier, but he didn't want us to touch them.
Anyway, it seems after every tooth he loses, there is a piece of flesh that is shaped like his tooth in its place. So, I went on to Ask.com and this is the explanation:
"This is fairly normal and certainly should not pose a problem. The "fleshy, soft red thing" is granulation tissue which often occurs when a loose tooth causes irritation of the underlying gum. It should heal up within a week or so. Meantime, it might be a bit tender. "
This is a picture of his gum line a couple of days after loosing his teeth...the "fleshy, soft red thing", popped out onto his lip and he spit it in the trash...again, totally grossed out!!!
